Unduvap Poya is a special day celebrated by Buddhists in Sri Lanka, usually in December. It marks the arrival of Sanghamitta Theri, a Buddhist nun, who came from India to Sri Lanka a long time ago. She brought a sapling of the sacred Bodhi Tree where Buddha is said to have gained enlightenment. People celebrate by visiting temples, praying, and doing good deeds. They also take care of Bodhi trees, which are important to Buddhists. It's a day for people to remember important Buddhist teachings and to be kind and peaceful.

You can also light a lamp and offer some delicious food called "Dana" to the monks. Spend time helping others by doing something kind, like feeding birds or giving food to someone in need. You can read a Jataka story, which are tales about the Buddha's previous lives, with your family. In the evening, meditate quietly, thinking nice thoughts and being thankful for everything you have.
