Purim is a joyful Jewish holiday that celebrates a brave queen named Esther who saved her people a long, long time ago. People dress up in fun costumes, just like on Halloween, and they make noise with special rattles called groggers to drown out the name of the villain Haman. Families gather to read the story of Esther, enjoy tasty triangle-shaped cookies called hamantaschen, and give gifts of food to friends. It's a time for lots of fun, laughter, and remembering how courage and kindness can make a big difference in the world.

How to celebrate Purim?

Dress up in a fun costume of your choice and get ready to have a joyful day! Start by gathering with friends and family for a special meal together. Enjoy yummy treats like hamantaschen cookies, which are shaped like triangles. Spend time giving gifts of food to your neighbors and share with them. Be sure to donate some money or goods to help those in need. Listen to the story of Purim read aloud, and whenever you hear the name of Haman, make lots of noise with your grogger (a special rattle). Don't forget to sing, dance, and have lots of fun!
